Howdy!Yesterday I finished reading my first Gotrek & Felix novel. Trollslayer is written by William King and the setting is the Old World in the Warhammer universe. The cover art is by John Gravato. I am taking a break from reading books set in the Forgotten Realms Universe of Dungeons & Dragons.
In the first week of November 2007 I started reading my copy of Homeland by R.A. Salvatore. I've had this book for over nine years, maybe even 13 years. The cover shows $4.95 U.S. and the art drawn by Jeff Easley. I only started reading it now because there are things on a list I want to accomplish before I die. Reading many books is an activity on the list.
Homeland is the first book of the Dark Elf Trilogy and it is written after the Icewind Dale Trilogy. I don't remember having TSR copies of Exile and Sojourn, the second and third books respectively. I bought the copies available by Wizards of the Coast and the cover art by Todd Lockwood. Luckily, the new books have a checklist and provide an order for reading The Legend Of Drizzt stories.
Homeland has a first printing of August 1990
Exile in December 1990; First hardcover printing in June 2004; The edition I have has a first printing in March 2006 but I did not purchase it until November of 2007
Sojourn in May 1991; First hardcover printing in December 2004; The edition I have has a first printing in June 2006 but I did not purchase it until November of 2007
Now the books can be purchased as a single hardcover volume or all three together in a collector's set. I am sure other options exist. The graphic novel gives visuals for the content in the books. Tomorrow I will write about the next trilogy in the sequence and include pictures.
